Critical Hits are a unique property of the default Laser Attack and Ballistic Attack accessible to Mechs in our game. Abilities that deal damage and Critical Attacks do not interact in any way. When a Mech uses a default Laser or Ballistic Attack, there is a small chance that the Attack will be a Critica Hit. When an attack is a Critical Hit, the affected enemy mech’s stats are debuffed until the end of their next turn.
The following spreadsheet shows how critical hits are calculated. These calculations should be made each time a default attack action is performed, not at the beginning of combat; this property allows players to manipulate the critical hit chance of a Mech's attacks by using Abilities that buff the Mech's Accuracy and Pilot Precision stats.

Like most of our other combat systems, the specifics of how Critical hits are calculated and the effects that they cause will likely change during playtesting. The specifics of how crits are calculated and the effects they trigger should be easily edited and changed by designers.
